Overview

We are committed to providing high-quality teaching, developing intellectually curious, self-motivated, enthusiastic young women with an endearing love of learning. The school has an international outlook, with girls learning from each other in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) board as well as Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

The teaching methodology incorporates a student-centered learning system. While English is the medium of instruction, students opt a foreign language as a third language.

The academic programme at Padmawati SR.SEC School Bareilly consists of a challenging curriculum that meets the students’ needs at different levels of learning. Small classes with a teacher-student ratio of 1:8 promote individual attention from faculty which directly impacts students’ progress.

Pedagogy

The teaching-learning pedagogy used in the classrooms is IT enabled. The campus is Wi-fi enabled and all classrooms are equipped with Smart boards to enhance learning through digital resources. The School has excellent laboratory facilities for Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and extensive Mac Labs for Computer Studies to experiment and bring to practice what the girls learn in theory. The Language and Social Science Labs are equipped with teaching aids to provide hands-on experience in the respective subjects.

The School Library is at the heart of the teaching area and offers both research using reference books and internet facilities for independent study. It provides a quiet place for the enjoyment of reading and all titles are continually updated with newly published books.

The School provides for all modern multi-activity facilities in the form of a Multi-purpose Auditorium, Seminar and Conference Rooms, an Amphitheater, 3D Laboratory, an Audio Visual and a Video Conferencing room. These facilities are equipped with latest technology for conducting workshops, guest lectures, seminars, presentations and other academic and extra-curricular activities.

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, (CISCE) Curriculum:

With its affiliation to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, the School prepares students for the ICSE in the Secondary School and ISC Examination in the Higher Secondary School. The Board and the curriculum framework provide a platform for diversity of intelligence and multiple avenues to focus on the students’ potential.

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, (CISCE) Assessment:

Assessment at UWS is both Formative and Summative. Formative Assessment includes open ended questions, informal questions, homework, class assignments, work sheets, day to day activities, presentations, projects and laboratory work.

Summative Assessment or Assessment of Learning is a part of evaluation under reporting and includes Unit Tests/First Assessment and Progression Examinations at the end of each term namely Half Yearly Examinations/Second Assessment, Pre-Boards/Mock Examinations and Annual/Final Assessment. Classes IX to XII are the board classes in the CISCE curriculum.

Cambridge Assessment International Educations (CAIE) Curriculum:

The Cambridge International Curriculum sets a global standard for education. In order to provide greater flexibility and choice for students, the School offers the Cambridge Assessment International Educations (CAIE) curriculum. Being accredited by CAIE for the past ten years, UWS endeavours to prepare students for life by enabling them to develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning.

It is a two-year curriculum, in which the students are exposed to learner-centric and enquiry-based approaches to learning. Through this they develop skills in critical thinking and problem solving.

Cambridge International A Level is typically a two-year course for Grades XI and XII. IGCSE and A Levels are the board classes. Our international qualifications are recognized by the world’s best universities and employers, giving students a wide range of options in their education and career.

Cambridge Assessment International Educations (CAIE) Assessment:

CAIE Assessments are held biannually. However, at Padmawati SR.SEC School Bareilly, assessments are conducted in the March session. The summative assessment of learning, strongly influence what happens in the classroom. Therefore, the CAIE uses a flexible assessment structure, allowing a ‘linear’ approach (all exams at the end of the course for Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International A Level) or a ‘staged’ approach (with some Cambridge International AS Level exams halfway through a two-year course).
