Rules & Regulations

At Padmawati Sr. Sec School, we have established certain rules and regulations to maintain discipline, ensure a safe and respectful learning environment, and promote the overall well-being of our students. We kindly request all students, parents, and staff to adhere to the following school rules:

General Rules:-
  • School Diary: Every student must carry their school diary to school every day. It should include their photograph and complete identity information, duly signed by parents or guardians.
  • Arrival and Transport: Students who come to school in their own transport should arrive before the designated bell rings. Self-driven scooters, motorcycles, or cars are not allowed. Please adhere to this rule for the safety of all.
  • Dress Code: Students should be neatly dressed in the prescribed school uniform on all working days. Sloppy dressing or not wearing the uniform will result in strict action. Non-Sikh boys should maintain regular haircuts, and girls should plait or neatly pin their hair if it is below the shoulders.
  • Respect for Property: Students are expected to respect the property of others, including school property. Writing, drawing, or damaging school furniture or belongings of others is strictly prohibited. Any damage, even if accidental, should be reported immediately to the Class Teacher or Principal. The responsible individual will be held accountable for the damage
  • Valuables: It is advisable not to bring valuable articles such as watches, cell phones, pagers, cameras, etc., to school. The school will not be responsible for any lost items.
  • Jewelry: Students are not allowed to wear any jewelry to school, including chains, rings, bangles, or bracelets. Girls may wear one pair of small earrings or studs only.
  • Guardian or Servant Responsibility: Students who are in the care of servants should not leave before the servant arrives. In case of any delay, students should report to the school office. Those who go home alone should promptly return straight home.
  • Politeness and Conduct: Students should be polite wherever they go and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the school. Greeting teachers respectfully is expected. Bullying, use of foul language, and any form of rude behavior are strictly punishable offenses.
  • Academic and Disciplinary Actions: The school reserves the right to suspend or take strict disciplinary action against students whose academic progress is unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to others.
  • Parent Visits: Parents and guardians should not visit their wards or teachers in classrooms without prior permission from the Principal. Half-Day Leave: Once a child has arrived at school, they should not be asked to go home on half-day leave or leave from any period, except in unavoidable circumstances.
  • Attendance and Participation: Students must not miss any teaching, games, library, or activity periods without a valid reason.
  • Senior-Junior Interactions: Students at Padmawati Sr. Sec School are expected to treat juniors with love and affection, while juniors must show respect to their seniors.

Prohibited Practices:

Students are strictly prohibited from engaging in the following practices:
  • Spitting in or near the school building.
  • Disfiguring or damaging school property.
  • Smoking.
  • Any form of gambling.
  • Rude behaviour.
  • Use of violence in any form.
  • Casteism, communalism, or practice of untouchability.
Disciplinary Actions:

Adherence to the school rules and good behavior are essential for a student's continuation at the school. Violation of school rules or any form of indiscipline may result in strict action, including expulsion, suspension, or rustication.

Absence:-
  • Students who have been sick must bring a medical certificate from their doctor upon returning to school. A copy of the certificate should be submitted.
  • Parents should fill up the "record for non-attendance" for each day their child is absent from school, stating the reasons for the absence.
  • Students requiring medical attention during school hours may be sent to the school clinic with a slip from the teacher.
  • Students who have been absent the previous day must present a letter from parents addressed to the class teacher, stating the reasons for the absence, before being admitted to the class.
  • Prior approval for leaving the station should be obtained before proceeding on leave. In case of emergencies, parents should inform the school and report to the class teacher before attending classes directly.
  • Students returning to school after suffering from an infection or contagious disease should provide a doctor's certificate permitting their return. Certain diseases require a prescribed period of quarantine before returning to class.
  • Repeated unexplained absence or absence without leave for more than six consecutive days may result in the student's name being struck off the school rolls. Readmission may be granted only upon payment of a fresh admission fee.
  • Students must fulfil a minimum attendance requirement of 75% in the academic session to be eligible to sit for final examinations. The percentage may be relaxed on medical grounds.

Late Arrival in School:

The school gate will close at 7:45 am in summer and 8:45 am in winter. All late arrivals after the gate has closed will face disciplinary action. Three consecutive late arrivals may result in the student being sent back home.
